About the Course
From Fear to Forever: Master the Art of Foster Pet Decompression, Safety and Escape Prevention is designed to give future or current foster parents the tools and confidence they need to help new foster dogs decompress while staying safe and preventing escapes. This course combines practical skills, real-life case insights, and field-tested tools to prevent accidents, respond effectively in emergencies, and reduce risk for the fosters entrusted to them. You'll learn about the unique behaviors of skittish/flight-risk dogs, essential tips for creating secure environments, hands-on techniques for handling nervous dogs safely, transportation safety, and how to keep your foster's safe when they go on sleepovers.

Mandy Sperrey is a seasoned pet safety advocate and the founder of Trapping Rescuing Advocating and Providing Support (TRAPS), an organization dedicated to preventing pet escapes and reuniting lost pets with their families. With years of hands-on experience working with skittish pets, medical cases, and humane trapping, Mandy has become a trusted resource for both pet owners and rescue organizations throughout the region.
Her calm, thoughtful approach to animal behavior and her passion for education have helped countless pet sitters, fosters, and volunteers feel more confident and prepared to keep animals safe under their care. Mandy has developed and led community workshops on escape prevention, humane handling, and safe pet transport, and she continues to work cases in the field to help bring lost pets home.
